Passenger power ruled the day as Air Berlin were forced to provide an alternative plane after customers drafted a petition on Sunday Sept 14th.

After two unsuccessful lift off attempts, Passengers demanded that a different plane be supplied. Over 170 passengers were on board the flight from Nuremburg to Faro.

Air Berlin says the Pilot had received a warning about the wing flap in his monitor however this was merely a reporting fault and no such problem existed

The flight was delayed for almost 15 hours as passengers gathered as many signatures as they could until a new plane was provided. Two passengers aboard the plane decided not to take any chances and refused to fly at all.

It is believed the recent Airline tragedy in Madrid caused the panic and upset among many of the passengers
