A plane which departed from Tegel Airport was forced to make an emergency landing at Stuttgart Airport on Sept 14th. The plane was carrying Franz Muentefering who was once the labor minister in Germany and is now the chairman of the German Social Democratic Party.

Officials in Berlin are still struggling to come up with ideas for the recently closed Tempelhof Airport. On Monday an announcement was made by the Development Minister Ingeborg Junge-Reyer that some parts of the airport grounds will be opened as parkspace. Recent reports have suggested that the working title “Brandenburg Airport” will not be retained once Berlin’s new airport opens in 2012.
