Schönefeld Airport can be found eighteen kilometres to the south east of Berlin City. It is located in Schönefeld (Brandenburg). This airport was used as East Berlin’s major airport before the wall came down.

The airport currently deals with over six and a half million passengers annually. In 2012 it will be incorporated with Tegel Airport into Berlin Brandenburg Airport.

There are four terminals. Terminal A is where you will find Ryanair who offer flights to Dublin, Edinburgh, Stansted, East Midlands and more. EasyJet operate flights from Terminal A and B to locations such as Liverpool, Luton, Gatwick, Glasgow and more while Aer Lingus fly from Terminal D to Dublin and Cork.

In Terminal A you will find five car hire Schönefeld Airport companies. Check out our cheap car hire Berlin Airport rates today. We won’t be beaten on price.

You can also get a train directly from Schönefeld Airport to Berlin central (Berlin S-Bahn lines S9 and S45).  There is a slower train which takes around half an hour (Airport Express train). This train runs every ten minutes and costs less than three euro.
