A plane which departed from Tegel Airport was forced to make an emergency landing at Stuttgart Airport on Sept 14th. The plane was carrying Franz Muentefering who was once the labor minister in Germany and is now the chairman of the German Social Democratic Party.

Thankfully there were no major injuries with just one passenger suffering a minor complaint. Contact Air confirmed that one person had been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

There were seventy three passengers on board the plane as well as five members of staff. There were problems with the planes landing gear. Despite several attempts eventually it was decided that an emergency landing was necessary. The runway was covered with foam to facilitate this.

The incident caused delays at Stuttgart Airport with the runway having to be closed for some time.
