Air Berlin recently appointed a new director for sales.  Detlef Altmann, who is 53, will start his new career at Air Berlin as a sales director in August of this year. Locally from the Essen city, Mr. Altmann is taking the position from Carsten Kröger who will start his own business by the end of this year. 

Mr. Almann is a well known and an expert in the field of tourism and Air Berlin has never been more proud.  Altmann used to be a travel agent, who was recruited by Neckermann Reisen. He held many positions in his previous work and was responsible for a turnover of over a billion Euros. His achievements include the restructuring of air travel, the opening of Bucher-Reisen, a Neckermann sister company, and the presentation of the early booking discount strategy. He is currently married with two children.
