Tegel Airport deals with the majority of international traffic which arrives in Berlin. It is located in an area called Tegel which is about eight kilometres north of Berlin. The airport is also known as Otto Lilienthal Airport.

There are two major airports in Berlin. Schönefeld Airport along with Tegel Airport deals with a high volume of international flights. In 2012 there will be a new airport in Berlin called Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport which will incorporate Schönefeld and see the closure of Tegel.
